Following on from the success of two previous competitions, the Friends are pleased to give notice of an Autumn Exhibition for the work of Friends to be held in the Gallery from Saturday October 25 to Sunday November 9 2008. We are delighted that the Director, Ian Dejardin, has agreed that, for the first time, the works will be displayed in the temporary exhibition space of the Gallery rather than in the Linbury Room.
Application forms will be available during the summer and will contain detailed information about the competition but in the meantime please note:• All participating artists must be members of the Friends of Dulwich Picture Gallery
• Artists may submit up to a maximum of three works.
• Only ‘flat’ art, ie. paintings, drawings, prints, photographs will be accepted.
• Works must be no larger than 1m square. This will be strictly enforced.
• All works must be clearly labelled on the back with the title and name of the artist. For prints please give the number of editions.
• There will be a submission fee of £10 (£5 for under-18s) for each work. Payment must be made on the day of delivery to the Gallery. Only cash or cheques can be accepted.
• All works must be for sale and the price given by the artist.
• The Friends of Dulwich Picture Gallery will take 30% commission of all sales. The price of the works should include commission.
• All works are submitted at the artist’s own risk. The Friends of Dulwich Picture Gallery are not responsible for any damage or loss.
There will be a judging panel (TBA) and prizes will be awarded at the Private View which will be held in the Gallery on the evening of Friday October 24.
