He mentions elsewhere that he will have to stop going places with them, because they are big spenders, and he can’t afford it.

Its the dark writing which is in focus. There is a dark ‘horizontal’ line on the left of the picture, then Hvvangogh all joined. There is a small 2 after his name. Presumably he brought a guest.
The signature underneath seems to be PG Standi??g.
No wonder it was difficult to find!
