Re-live last Monday’s fantastic evening of singing, dancing, picnicking… if you were one of the 500 who were there, or experience a flavour of GalleryFilm’s August Bank Holiday extravaganza, thanks to DOV’s film maker, Ed Saunders.
DOV article about the evening.
The FABBA four who performed before the film and encouraged us to participate were from Push Studios, the fitness centre in East Dulwich. Kevin gives fitness tips for Dulwich OnView‘s readers every so often. Read his most recent advice.
Ed Saunders is a professional documentary film maker who has now made 5 short films for Dulwich OnView in order to promote Dulwich Picture Gallery. They are on the sidebar – take a look at the ones about the current exhibition, The Polish Connection.
GalleryFilm runs sociable film evenings every month – art-house/foreign/interesting films + free food and drink, introduction by experts, film notes, free raffle, DVD sales table. All for £8/£6
More info about future screenings
The people who manned the bars, sold tickets, blew up balloons, set up tents, sold 70′s clothes, cleared away the mounds of rubbish afterwards (and took it home to recyle), as well as the Push Studios team, 2 professional photographers, and our wonderful film maker, are all volunteers who support Dulwich Picture Gallery - thank you to them all.

It’s a great little film – really captures the fun atmosphere. Well done everyone!
How about Strictly Ballroom next year?
What a fantastic evening! sorry i wasn’t around – heard rom people in the village that it was a great success! Heard you wore a fabulous original catsuit Ingrid!! (that you wore when you were17!!!) amazing
The catsuit was a bit of a squeeze – safety pins under the feather boa!
Well what a great film of what looks like a fabulous event, that’ll teach me to not act when I sense something will be good! We went to ‘Watch This Space’ on the Southbank, saw a dance performance and then a band which were both great, but not as great as this looked!!! what a coup for the gallery, such fantastic publicity for them too. Very well done to the crew who made this happen….I’ve learned my lesson!
