If their Mayday madness bash was anything to go by, (complete with Maypole) The Dulwich Ukelele’s Christmas Balls-up at the Mag on December 12th 8-midnight will be a right royal knees up.

Packing a punch as ever
There’s a wacky local musical line-up to be expected from this lot, and the world premier of their football anthem, no less. With proceeds going towards the local kids football team, Athenlay FC, (they hope to raise £1,000) this sure is a wild and lively night to be had on our very own doorstep.
Anybody who is anybody was there in May and sure will be there this time! The eco sausage buying groovy folk of East Dulwich are what makes this area so very interesting.
And so refreshing to have a truly independent music scene a million miles away from what the TV feeds us. I was going to say there’s no hint of a Jedwood here, though actually, don’t be surprised if there’s a quiff or two, dads in Hawaiian shirts and some unusual musical performances.
This time on the bill we have The Puff Daddies, Charlie’s Mad Marionettes and The Lambeth Wind Orchestra. Fresh from his half cocked Woodstock festival at the Half Moon last weekend, and a Mag night regular event, will be Dr Kings Jailhouse. And, when do you get to see a 78 rpm record these days never mind hear one! Completing the line up with his inimitable set is DJ78.
If that’s not enough, the Ukelele Club will be debuting their specially written World Cup Anthem. They reckon they have a real chance of getting to South Africa with it next summer! Let’s hear it lads!
Tickets are £10 and can be bought from the Mag (221 Lordship Lane). Also you can purchase online click here.
See ya there!
