Local historical hidden gem Kingswood House are proud to announce the launch of their new website: http://kingswoodcommunity.org.uk.
It comes hot on the tails of Dulwich OnView (we recently rebranded the site, which we hope you’re enjoying).
Kingswood House – on the Kingswood Estate in SE21 – does excellent work in its immediate local community and this is represented in their excellent new website. As a focal centre of the estate – and what a centre it is! – their diary is packed with events and activities for residents nearby and for others from further afield.
MPs and local councillors hold their surgeries there, there are open days and festivals in the summer and a host of groups meet there. If you’re interested in having an event there, the very reasonable rates are listed on the new website.
The building is also home to perhaps the most beautiful library in London with it’s panelled walls, spindled staircase and secret reading room in a turret!
I had the pleasure of working with the Friends of Kingswood House last year and was impressed by their commitment and drive to make this place a success on an extremely limited budget.
They say: “This little corner of Dulwich is benefitting from plenty of voluntary work being put in by residents and non-residents who care about the Estate and the House.”
This new website is a sign of their growing strength. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your comments on this hidden and little-known treasure. By publicising it you help us keep it vibrant and responsive to demand. The House and the surrounding Estate make a wonderful example of old nestled inside modern and gracious alongside blocks of flats. We would like the house to be used for as many events and activities as possible so Southwark can appreciate it’s value to the community.
