Paul Nash Competition – People’s vote

The Nash Competition is now closed for submissions. We have had 120 entries!  Thank you to all the artists who have entered their work.

Now it’s time to decide who will be the winners. There will be 4 winners – 2 in each category (the 2 categories are 18 years and over and under 18 years). Ian Dejardin, director of Dulwich Picture Gallery, will choose one winner in each category, but the other two winners will be chosen by you – a people’s vote.

This stage of the competition involves you! We would like you to vote for your favourite entry via the large poll on the Adult Competition Entries and Under-18 Competition Entries pages. Voting takes place between 10 – 31 May 2010.

We have had entries from a variety of ages, topics and interpretations. For example, many students from Dulwich College and James Allen’s Girls’ School have entered the competition in the under 18 category. We have also had entries in a variety of media such as water colour painting, acrylic, photographs, mixed media and  oil painting.

Consider when voting is that the topic should relate to Dulwich Picture Gallery and grounds, like this entry.

Winners will be announced on Dulwich OnView on Tuesday 1 June 2010.

The winners will receive an exclusive invitation to the next Friends’ Gallery Private View, The Wyeth Family: Three Generations of American Art and a catalogue of the exhibition worth £25. The prize giving will take place at the Friends Private View on Monday 14 June, 6-8pm.

I have so enjoyed all these pictures. I of course have my favourites and have placed my votes. So many thoughts expressed in so many ways, delightful. Thank you to all the artists for bringing so much joy my way.
