Friends Exhibition 2011 – Winner of the People’s Vote

Self Portrait by Jill Bradley

The winning art work chosen by visitors to the Friends’ Exhibition was a Self Portrait, by Jill Bradley. Jill received 44 votes out of 784 casts, and she has won lunch for two at the Picture Gallery Cafe.

The exhibition attracted 388 entries by 183 Friends, of which 133 were exhibited in the Gallery. 32 works were sold during the exhibition, raising over £5,000 for Gallery funds.

Congratulations to all the winners of the Friends exhibition. The exhibition was a huge success and none of this would have been possible without the generosity of Dulwich Picture Gallery and, in particular, the behind-the-scenes work of co-organisers Barbara Richardson and Jane Reid and all the Friends volunteers, judges and sponsors.

Join the Friends of the Gallery and exhibit your own work at their next exhibition.

About Shapa Begum

Born and raised in East Dulwich, I've been the Editor of Dulwich OnView since 2010. I'm also part of the Communications team at Dulwich Picture Gallery. I love what I do here at Dulwich OnView, I'm absolutely passionate about south London and reaching out to local communities. When not working, I love to read (reading 'The Hobbit' at the moment), visit museums and hole up in a café somewhere. I am currently working on a new article series for DOV - Hotdesking in south London! (coming soon).
