Dulwich Garden Safari 2012

Local charity Dulwich Helpline has done it again! For the sixth year running now, they’ve come up with another 5 beautiful private gardens for you to enjoy on Sunday 10 June, 2pm – 6pm in their Dulwich Garden Safari.

Last year, hundreds of people had a great time meandering through the gardens and soaking up the lovely sights, sounds and smells and Dulwich Helpline is hoping for an even bigger turnout this year!

This year’s gardens offer an excellent variety of features to enjoy, including a wonderful variety of trees and shrubs, colourful herbaceous borders, climbing roses, winding paths, water features, ceramics and statuary.

Tea and delicious homemade cakes will be available, together with a Plant Stall - most of the plants are grown by a volunteer, but we are very much hoping that local garden centres will also donate plants to us. From the event, we are hoping to raise at least 5,000 pounds.

Tickets/maps will be available on the day from 25 Burbage Road, SE24 9HB. Entrance will be £5 for Adults, Children (under 16) – FREE!

Sorry – no dogs please.

The event will raise money for the work of Dulwich Helpline who, through their fantastic team of volunteers and a variety of interest and activity groups, provide friendship, emotional support, and practical help to isolated older people in the community of Dulwich and neighbouring areas in south Southwark.  They welcome new volunteers and are currently looking for people who are free during the daytime for gardening and transport help, and who can do “handy person” jobs around the home.

So come “on safari”, enjoy some stunning local gardens and support this worthy local charity!
