Hundreds celebrate Going for Gold

Hundreds got together on Sunday to celebrate Going for Gold at Dulwich Picture Gallery - a party for all the family to celebrate the Olympics.

It was a very happy day in spite of the showers and a lost owl….the day was a feast of fun with a balloon release of a 1000 balloons as the climax. Here are some pictures of the afternoon:

The lovely merry-go-round rides

Children enjoying a traditional Punch and Judy show

The Falcons where spectacular

Local school bands were playing live every hour

Local caterers provided delicious food

Fancy riding a vintage bike?

Children’s fancy dress ride

Tommy Godwin and Rupert Maas judged the fancy dress ride

If you took pictures on the day, it would be fantastic to add to our collection of images of the event. Please feel free to add your photos to the Friends Flickr pool.

About Shapa Begum

Born and raised in East Dulwich, I've been the Editor of Dulwich OnView since 2010. I'm also part of the Communications team at Dulwich Picture Gallery. I love what I do here at Dulwich OnView, I'm absolutely passionate about south London and reaching out to local communities. When not working, I love to read (reading 'The Hobbit' at the moment), visit museums and hole up in a café somewhere. I am currently working on a new article series for DOV - Hotdesking in south London! (coming soon).
