Burgess Park is the largest park in Southwark and one of the largest public parks in South London.
The park recently underwent a multi-million pound transformation and reopened on 21 July. Burgess Park was actually not that bad before, it looked a little tired and unfinished. But the park was perfect for long walks and tennis.
I was looking forward to seeing the new changes. So I went to visit the park on a sunny afternoon. The park was packed with so many people! It was nice to see everyone enjoying themselves and all the exciting areas the park had to offer.
Burgess park now features a new layout, a variety of plants, outdoor gym, an extended lake, a fun adventure playground and go-karts, sports centre, tennis court, cafe, a nice picnic area, 5 new hills and a new barbecue area around the lake, which is a very good idea.
I think the transformation has been great. Burgess Park was really green, spacious and there was lots to see and do. It’s definitely a park worth visiting this summer.
So what do you think about the transformation? Let us know…
