It’s now some way into rehearsals and it’s lovely to be back. After performing in a number of plays as a child with the Dulwich Players I am now returning as Ada, a ward of Jarndyce who falls madly for her distant cousin, a fellow ward, and appears destined for sadness and heartbreak.
A number of new faces are a welcome addition to the experienced cast and Bleak House looks set to be anything but.
Rehearsals are going well and as scenes begin to piece together we all gain a greater understanding of our own character’s journey and how external factors affect them within the play. Watching the act run-throughs gets better and better as the pace quickens, the humour is unveiled, and the connecting scenes complete the picture.
We’ve got an excellent back stage team and we’re all looking forward to the costumes whilst taking a pared down approach to set, save for a fantastic backdrop created by Michael who plays Mr Richard Carstone – I always knew Ada had good taste!
Full details of the performance are below so please come along and enjoy this adaption of a classic novel.
