Play Me, I'm Yours – Herne Hill Street Piano

This is a pretty wonderful idea. A street piano in Herne Hill where anyone can sit down and play some lovely tunes, Schubert, or Chopsticks.

If you love pianos, and would like not only to see them as works of art, but to play them as well, here”s your chance to experience .

The piano has been decorated in bright vivid colours and placed in the alley next to Herne Hill railway station – with an open invitation for anyone and everyone who fancies tinkling the ivories to have a go. Members of the public can visit the piano and share making music together.

There are many people who fill the station with beautiful music and sound. One pianist in particular, featured below, has been drawing attention playing some incredible classical music from the piano, complete with his BMX leaned up against it – incredible!

‘Play Me, I’m Yours’ is a project, created by Luke Jerram, it has sent painted pianos on tour around the globe since 2008. More than 600 pianos have now been installed in 26 cities across the globe, from New York to London bearing the simple invitation ‘Play Me, I’m Yours.’
