Take part in a free photography walk in Dulwich

Dulwich OnView is holding its very own community photography walk on Saturday 31 August.

3467088410_7e3775c7ceAre you a budding photographer? Or are you interested in trying photography? Want to explore your local area with like-minded people?

Dulwich OnView, supported by Southwark Council, is organising a meet-up and walk around Dulwich. Walkers will be invited to explore how to capture their local area in their own photographic style from colour to black and white, digital to film, quirky to everyday. Meet new friends, get inspired about the community, share and discuss the images over free refreshments and gain free entry inside the Gallery’s Permanent Collection.

The walk schedule is as follows:

11am – meet outside Dulwich Picture Gallery and introductions

11.15pm – walk starts

12.30pm – walk ends at Dulwich Picture Gallery – please do take images of the Gallery and surroundings

12.30 – 1.15pm refreshments served and discussion with the sharing of images. Participants will be asked to email their photographs to Dulwich OnView for uploading onto a Facebook gallery.

1.15pm – Free entry inside Dulwich Picture Gallery’s Permanent Collection

2pm – End

We only have spaces for 15 participants and there are no costs involved other than bringing your own camera. If you’d like to take part in the photography walk, gain free entry into the Gallery, have an opportunity for your work to go up on our facebook site and indulge in complimentary refreshments, get in touch.

We will select participants on a first come first served basis. Please email us your name and why you’d like to take part: editor@dulwichonview.org.uk.

About Shapa Begum

Born and raised in East Dulwich, I’ve been the Editor of Dulwich OnView since 2010. I love what I do here at Dulwich OnView, I’m absolutely passionate about south London and reaching out to local communities – you can read about my favourite Dulwich spots on Time Out London and Completely London blog. My role goes beyond editing, I write, review happenings for the blog, participate in conferences or workshops and oversee the marketing. There’s no rest for the wicked! When not working, I love to read (reading ‘A Tale for the Time Being’ at the moment), visit museums and hole up in a café somewhere.
