Don’t panic, there’ll be no disruption to your pleasant stroll up from the market to the Blue Mountain Café. However, you might find a pavement crowd for the opening party on Friday 25 September from 6.30pm where you will be welcomed with wine & nibbles.

Following their joint exhibition at this local gallery in 2013, Morna Hinton and Jane Pickersgill reunite to show original artworks in watercolour, ink wash, acrylics and mixed media.

The two artists first met whilst studying together and continue to bounce off each other, creatively of course. Both have built up a London following whilst showing at Dulwich Open, Dulwich Art Group & Lee Open Studios.

Morna recently showed work on the theme of gardens at Gabriel Fine Art in Waterloo. In fact she is fascinated by plant forms be they in a garden or landscape setting. Recent work has taken inspiration from urban parks and country estates. See examples of her work at www.mornahinton.weebly.com. A South London resident for decades, Morna regularly participates in life drawing and painting with Dulwich Art Group.

Jane continues to explore the landscape and describes her work as “Making the Place”. Whilst you will still find recognizable and iconic images, especially in her ‘Sacred Places’ series, her new paintings utilize both paint and collage techniques to recreate memories of place rather than direct depiction. See examples of her work at www.janepickersgill.com. Living in South London for many years, she is a member of Lee Green Open Studios and Zeitgeist Arts Project.
