After years of speculation, it’s finally happening…Marks & Spencer (M&S) has announced it will open a new Foodhall in Lordship Lane, East Dulwich on Wednesday 31 August at 10am.
The people of Dulwich have spoken, albeit a few concerns, majority of locals are in favour for an M&S. To think that the many discussions on the East Dulwich Forum may have actually persuaded M&S to open up a store here.
Lordship Lane is evolving at a fast pace, but that’s what makes living in East Dulwich so interesting. I’m sure there will be mixed opinions on this, for example, parking issues, how it will compete with other local shops etc., but I’m not here to criticise about the issues and gentrification, rather I stand today as a messenger to let my fellow Dulwichites know about the opening.
On a positive note, M&S have told me that the Foodhall, will provide shoppers with more than 4,000 quality food and drink products. From delicious prepared meals and healthy cooking inspiration to show stopping party selections and sumptuous desserts, there’s something for every occasion.
The Store Manager James Morgan, who has been with M&S for over nine years, said: “We’re delighted to be opening a Foodhall in Dulwich and can’t wait to welcome our customers into the store for the first time on 31 August.
“We’re really looking forward to revealing our fantastic choice of products – from traditional favourites and the best seasonal produce, to our popular Spirit of Summer range which has lots of exciting new flavours perfect for celebrations over the August Bank Holiday weekend.”
M&S Foodhall Dulwich, located at 84/90 Lordship Lane, East Dulwich, London, SE22 8HF will be open from 8am – 11pm Monday to Saturday and 11am – 5pm Sunday. (Former Iceland site)
