Fun at Gymboree East Dulwich

Baby Ayman and I went along to the Gymboree East Dulwich class last week, it was amazing and we both loved it!

IMG_4933As soon as we entered the building, we were welcomed by the enthusiastic teachers. I was shown the baby change area, toilets and given a name sticker. Adults have to wear socks and babies have to be bare feet.

The class is for 45 minutes and there were a few of us in the Sensory Baby Play class, it was quite nice as it felt more personal and relaxing for the babies. The class was led by Jennie – smiley, happy and a great singer. Jennie began the class by welcoming and singing personally to the babies – Babies were all awed and they loved it!

The class was structured, so there were a few songs, tummy time, playing with torches and colour, puppets, infant signing, parachute time, bubbles and a few songs at the end. Before the end of the class, it was exploratory playtime around the baby gym, so babies had the chance to experience physical play and musical sensory. Ayman enjoyed the doughnut rocket and musical instruments. Ayman isn’t too keen on tummy time, but Jennie put a mirror infant of the babies and Ayman stayed on his tummy for a few minutes – it was a miracle, all thanks to Gymboree!

Ayman found the fabric inside the doughnut rocker!

Ayman was very attentive during the structured class. He really loved the songs and the bubbles. I enjoyed the class as I felt that the class was appropriate for Ayman’s development stage and playing with Ayman was real fun. Jennie is a very friendly and happy teacher, her enthusiasm really helped the babies to stay engaged. The class had a fun and relaxing atmosphere, everyone’s friendly and babies love it!

Gymboree’s focus is to encourage and nurture your little one in every aspect of their development, with you right by their side. They offer a variety of fun and sensory led classes for newborns – 3.5 yrs. Activities are movement based encouraging both mental and physical development. Classes encourage child led exploration in a nurturing and safe environment.
