I started Hackney Flea Market as a pop-up event in the summer of 2013, with the aim of offering vintage marketeers and creative independents an affordable space to sell their wares, promote their business, in the busy heart of Stoke Newington’s Church St. Since then, Hackney Flea Market has grown to a monthly weekend market, and expanded to include events – DIY Art Market, Hackney Record Fair, The Old Dalston Market, Independent Ceramics Market, and hosted Pop-Ups at Chats Palace.

As well as attracting vintage traders from established markets like Kempton, Spitalsfield, Bermondsey, our north London market attracted large numbers of vintage traders/artists and visitors from Peckham, many of whom encouraged me to open a similar South London event. Peckham’s Copeland Park was highly recommended, with an established/vibrant creative community, and an amazing array of new independent restaurants, food vendors, cafes, and bars.

Peckham Salvage Yard started spring 2015, and has quickly grown to become South London’s go-to destination for vintage gems, with over 50 hand-picked vintage traders, bringing, 20th Century furniture, salvaged French homeware, vintage clothes, curiosities & collectables, kitschenalia, reclaimed industrial fixtures / electricals, and unexpected oddities.

It’s a great place to hunt for personal treasures, rummage for bargains, and grab a bite.
