Nash Art Competition

Paul Nash, Pillar and Moon - oil on canvas

Create your own landscape from a dream

Paul Nash, Mansions of the Dead, pencil and watercolour on paper

Dulwich Picture Gallery invites you to create your own surreal landscape inspired by the beautifully strange landscapes by Paul Nash on display in the exhibition, Paul Nash: The Elements.

Nash selected elementary objects and put them in relationships of conflict or harmony. Why not use the Gallery and grounds as the basis for your dreamworld? Your interpretation can be a painting, drawing, mixed media, photo etc. – anything flat.

Send us a digital reproduction and add a sentence about yourself and a link to your website if you wish. dulwichonview@googlemail.com. Please include the medium and size of the work, and your age if you are under 18 years.

All images will be published on Dulwich OnView on Mondays.
They will also be shown on our specially created Flickr group ‘Paul Nash Exhibition’

A final word – Howard Male says about Landscape of the Vernal Equinox that it is ‘as much a portrait of the artist’s own troubled soul as it is a literal representation of a stretch of his beloved South Downs.’ Perhaps you would like to interpret the Gallery in terms of yourself.
