Mothers of Dulwich

“Mother`s love is peace. It need not be acquired, it need not be deserved.” - Erich Fromm.

Dulwich Picture Gallery has always been adored and widely recognised for its famous collection of Masterpieces and you are probably one of the thousands of visitors each year who wonder down the Gallery`s enfilade adoring the Old Masters. But have you ever taken time to observe and enjoy the images of motherhood? Take a look and you will see, across era and country, the continuation of a shared narrative: the bond between mother and child.

Domenichino’s Adoration of the Shepherds which was originally part of the Dulwich collection was the last of the Gallery’s works to be sold in the 1970s. The painting will return as December’s Masterpiece a Month.

To celebrate Mothers Day Dulwich Picture Gallery would like to offer you the opportunity to treat your Mother to FREE entry to the Gallery this Mothers Day weekend. To redeem your voucher, simply click and print the voucher below and present it at the Ticket Desk.
