Hello DOV Readers. I wrote this for you, for this time of year - when some New Year resolutions fall in the gutter, when people drinking soda and tisanes during their “dry” detoxing January feel it’s not worth the misery; when you realise that you should but somehow can’t fulfil a specific dream…
What you subconsciously want, you will get.And what you subconsciously do not want, you will avoid.” – Bo Sanchez
If you realised how powerful your thoughts are, would you never dwell on another negative thought again? The brain is like a muscle - exercise helps it to grow. Thinking about 1 negative, flip it over and see what the reverse situation looks like…
In this Capricorn month, the sign of the goat, these goats show their ability to manoeuvre in challenging circumstances. When times are tough, isn’t it amazing how we find strengths, support and resourceful techniques from within!
Need to keep fit? Join an exercise class or activity that works your whole body, challenges your mind a bit, and feels comfortably uncomfortable. The sense of achievement is one of your rewards. Remember to congratulate yourself afterwards and have a glass of water!
At St Barnabas Parish Hall, Dulwich Village, on Fridays, 9.30am, there’s a new “Aerobics, dance fitness, Circuit Mix” - open to all abilities as everyone works at their own pace with encouragement and suggestions to do more than you thought yourself capable of. And good stretches at the end to make you feel as supple as elastic.
Next time you feel hunger, have a glass of water and notice how you feel 20 minutes later. Less hungry, I guess! If you feel thirst, have that glass of water and another one on stand-by to drink several minutes later. If you’d like to know 40 good reasons to drink water, email Kathy at [email protected] with your request and I’ll email 40 good reasons to drink water to you. Feel free to share.

SMILE! Abundance can be wealth and riches in its many forms, such as being abundantly healthy, abundantly wealthy, abundantly happy, abundantly clear… Talking of money, having a lot of it means that we can more easily do good for those in need, leading to happiness and win-win-win situations (you win, they win, everyone wins).
Let it flow! Talking of happiness, pass on a smile to everyone you meet, or the notion of a smile. Amazing how this makes total strangers smile back!
Talking of clarity, be clear about what you want and ask the universe for it. Say thank-you as if it’s already on its way to you.
A long time ago, I started dancing. Dancing made me incredibly healthy and fit. Being healthy and fit set me apart from others not as healthy or fit. I liked being different but deep down wanted to fit in, so I started teaching dance and fitness. Finding myself in the service of others, I listened to what they wanted and what they wanted less of. That made me think, learn, take relevant qualifications… and to eventually healing, teaching more widely and motivating more people along the way.
Now I find myself writing this: if you can dream it and you like that dream, take a step to make it happen. Accept help along the way. Use professional guidance to make your wishes easier to acquire, clearer, definite.
Successful goals could be having time to read a book, meet 1 good friend a week, establishing limits on alcohol consumed or biscuits eaten, having a waist 2″ slimmer, getting 15 minutes more sunshine a day, lifting heavier weights more easily, having adequate sleep… Or rowing the Channel, finish writing a book, getting a career promotion, nurturing a relationship, running a successful business, enjoying a special holiday, moving home, finding satisfying voluntary work…
Enjoy your day dear reader, whatever happens, and the abundant blessings of Dulwich, big and small!
Yours in fitness and in health,
Kathy Yvanovich
