‘Tis the season to buy local Christmas gifts’

Christmas shopping is one of the festive season’s most time-honoured traditions. This year in particular, we’re being urged to think a little harder about the gifts we’re buying and where we’re buying them from.

Rigby & Mac in Dulwich have a great range

While it’s easier to shop with big companies, the impact of the current pandemic means that we’re all being urged to shop local. Buying from a small businesses, would help to keep them open in the long term.

We personally recommend the following:

Local artist Lydia Wood does some great drawings!

Buy unique and eclectic gifts from local lifestyle shops

Treat your friends to dinner or coffee

Support your local farmer or deli

Buy a book from your local bookshop

Sign loved ones up to online classes or clubs

Pick up a unique or vintage gift from the local charity shop

Buy vouchers from local pubs and restaurants

Gift a membership from a local museum or gallery

Buy products or vouchers from local salons

Buy personalised drawings, prints or portrait sessions from local artists or photographers

Buy sweet treats from local home bakers

Visit local Christmas virtual markets

Buy handmade jewellery from local jewellers

Happy Shopping!
