A walk through the Gallery’s gardens…

Nestled in a very green corner of Dulwich, I enjoy the peaceful setting of the Gardens at Dulwich Picture Gallery. The sun was shining a few days back, so it was the perfect opportunity to go for a stroll in the Gardens and capture some beautiful photos.

As the world’s first purpose built art gallery, Dulwich Picture Gallery was designed for the public to enjoy. The gardens offer the opportunity to explore the exterior of Sir John Soane’s iconic building, majestic trees, and Walking the Dog sculpture by Peter Randall-Page. The sculpture was carved out of granite and the design echoes the frieze on the Gallery exterior.

The Gallery Café is also open offering a takeaway menu of delicious food and drink which you can enjoy at one of the picnic tables or on the grass, or to take away with you.

We hope you will enjoy visiting the beautiful gardens.

Did you know the gardens are home to over 25 species of trees, including a Japanese Maple and a Kentucky Coffee Tree? Some are even a few hundred years old!
