If you’ve ever thought of volunteering, wanted to feel part of your local community and do something creative, then Dulwich OnView is the place for you. We like to think of ourselves as interesting people who all love the Dulwich area and we’re always on the lookout for like-minded people to collaborate with.
So what’s in it for you? A drink down the pub for starters. We usually meet every six weeks or so in the Crown and Greyhound in Dulwich Village. Some of our team have used Dulwich OnView to gain valuable work experience in online publishing and forged new careers as writers. Others have enjoyed exposure of their photographs and videos to a wider audience and have made valuable contacts in the industry.
A lot of our volunteers now know their way around a WordPress blog pretty well and have started their own blogs. Most of us enjoy learning new skills and doing something different to our day jobs. And we’ve all enjoyed getting to know other people in the area and seeing our online magazine grow from strength to strength. If you want to join our Dulwich OnView team, there are a number of ways you can get involved. We would really like to hear from you if you have the following skills and interests:
- writing and blogging
- photography
- drawing and illustration
- video-making for the internet
- podcasting
- marketing and event management
- editing and editorial management
Write an article, take a photo, make a video
If you would like to write an article or submit a photo-story, audio podcast or online video for Dulwich OnView, please read our submission guidelines, then email us via [email protected] with a brief description of your article or multi-media submission.
Contribute photos
To send a photo to ‘Seen Around Dulwich’, please attach it in jpeg format and send to [email protected].
You can also contribute photos to our Dulwich OnView Flickr group. In order to do so, you need to sign up for an account at flickr.com and join our group: Dulwich Picture Gallery flickr Friends. Then go to the photo(s) that you want to share with us and click the “Send to Group” button between the photo title and the photo. Choose Dulwich Picture Gallery flickr Friends.
